Treating Menopause Symptoms Naturally

If you’re a woman, it’s bound to happen sooner or later. Maybe you’re still years away or maybe you’re in the midst of it right now. Either way, menopause is an unavoidable part of life. But it doesn’t have to be a miserable one.

For most women, menopause occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. It is a normal part of a woman’s life and signals the end of her menstrual cycle. Luckily, there are a lot of natural remedies out there to help you cope with the process.

Diet

If you don’t follow one already, switching to a whole foods diet is going to be a key factor in making the transition to menopause easier. The healthier you are, the better your body is able to adapt and adjust to changes.

For example, fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin c and bioflavonoids may help relieve hot flashes. Examples would be broccoli, salad greens, peppers, parsley, citrus fruits, berries, melons and apricots. Lignans, which are a component of fiber, act as phytoestrogens. Lignans can be found in whole grains, flax seeds, legumes, vegetables such as cabbage and broccoli, and some fruits, especially strawberries and apricots.

There are also specific foods that can help promote estrogen production in the body, and therefore ease symptoms. Those foods are beets, carrots, alfalfa, apples, cabbage, papaya, garlic, olive oil, and pumpkin seeds just to name a casino spiele few. Incorporating these foods into your diet has been shown to help women with night sweats and hot flashes.

It’s also important that you stay well hydrated by drinking lots of water, eliminate caffeine and alcohol and get regular exercise. While it’s always important, maintaining overall good health is going to be even more vital during this time in your life.

Some plants and herbs contain compounds called phytoestrogens, which can mimic a woman’s own estrogen in a small way, therefore preventing or alleviating some of the symptoms ands risks that come with menopause. Herbs are a great way to naturally treat many ailments, including menopause, and they’re a safer alternative to OTC or prescription meds which often have a laundry list of negative side effects.

  5. Chamomile & Valerian – Both are known for their sedative properties and can be a helpful treatment for insomnia.

These are just a few of the many herbs available to help combat the symptoms of menopause. Most can be found in various forms such as teas, extracts, tinctures and capsules. You can do just one or a combination. Everyone’s body is different so dosages are also going to vary from woman to woman.

Below are some home remedies that you can make on your own and use as needed.

Hot Flash Tincture:

  • 2 tsp. Cohosh Root
  • 1 tsp. Don Quai Root
  • 1 tsp. Sarsaparilla
  • 1 tsp. Licorice Root
  • 1 tsp. Chaste Tree
  • 1 tsp. Ginseng Root

Mix ingredients together and take 3 droppers daily

Vaginal Dryness Lotion:

Mix ingredients together and apply inside and outside of the vagina twice daily
